The 2010 Christmas applications for the Toys for Tots program are available and can be picked up from the office on Thursday and Friday, November 18 and 19, 2010, only!!! You can pick up a form on these days between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Election of officers for the year 2011 will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. Please arrange your schedules accordingly.
Our Mission Auxiliary and Courtesy Committee are in the process of preparing Thanksgiving Baskets for delivery on Saturday, November 20, 2010. The Akron Branch NAACP will host its 54th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner on Sunday, October 31, 2010, at Tangier Restaurant, located at 532 W. Market Street. Seating will begin at 1:15 p.m. and the program will start at 2:00 p.m. Keynote speaker will be Hilary O. Shelton, Director of the Washington Bureau of the National NAACP and the Senior Vice President of the Advocacy Policy. Tickets are $60.00 each and you may see Bro. Henry Johnson regarding this matter.
The Interdenominational Church Ushers and Nurses of Akron (ICUA) will host its Annual Fellowship/Scholarship Banquet on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Second Baptist Church, located at 690 S. Main Street. The event will take place at 5:00 p.m. Donations for tickets are $25.00 each and $15.00 for children twelve years of age and under. You may see Sis. Anita Barnett for tickets.
Pastor Peterson has extended the budget request deadline for one week to Sunday, November 21, 2010, for the upcoming year, 2011. If not submitted, you will have to go without a budget for at least the first quarter of the year. Your cooperation in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
